JONAS DRIAUNEVICIUS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved father and gramps, peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2006, at Oakview Place at the age of 89 years. Jonas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Violet in 1995; son-in-law Philip in 2004; brothers, Joe and Stan and sisters, Ann and Vera. Jonas was born on the family farm Micassi in Vilkia, Lithuania and very proudly served in the Lithuanian Army. After the war, Jonas resided in England before immigrating to Canada in 1975 with his wife Violet. Left to cherish his memory are sons, John and Andrew; daughter Zita; grandchildren, Adam, Christopher, Natalie and Jack. Jonas will be lovingly remembered as a devoted dad and most wonderful gramps. He was an avid gardener, loved dancing and bowling. His cheeky smile, laughing eyes and naughty sense of humour will be missed by everyone. A celebration of Jonas' life will be held on Monday, November 13, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, followed by committal at Chapel Lawn. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bev and Don Jacobsen for their outstanding support over the past several years, without such, the family would truly have been very lost. Also, many thanks, to Dr. Maharaj, Laurie, Inez and staff at Oakview Place for their excellent care and to Fr. Mark Tarrant for his visits. You raised us up so we could stand on mountains. You raised us up to walk on stormy seas. You gave us life, love and understanding. We Thank You, Rest in Eternal Life, Mom and Dad. You can now go dance the nights away. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6 or to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4A6. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
