HOWARD VINCENT LAMONT With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of Howard Lamont, aged 87 years, of Hazelridge, MB on November 7, 2006 at Beausejour, MB. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Adeline; sons, Elwood (Debbie), Lionel (Sarita), Nelson (Gina) and daughter Glenda (Robin). He also leaves six grandchildren, Brandee (Randy), Ryan, Nicole, Alana, Colton, Kieran and one great-grandson Ashton. He will also be remembered and missed by his sister Aileen Kraushar of British Columbia as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Archie. Howard was born in Hazelridge on November 6, 1919. His early years were spent on the family farm during the depression years. He married Adeline in 1951 and together they farmed in Hazelridge and drove school bus for many years. A favourite saying of his was a nice rain in July is a million dollar rain . He spent time serving his community as 4-H leader, school trustee and coach and was involved with helping to build and maintain the curling rink, hall and arena in Hazelridge. Community involvement was very important to him. He was a family man and family came first above all. He loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandson who he was able to spend time with this past summer. He was always willing to take any one of them for a golf car ride when they visited and if they wanted to drive, that was okay with him too! In his retirement years, he enjoyed going to Anola for breakfast and visiting with his friends, sometimes even staying for lunch if there was someone there to talk to. Howard loved going to auction sales and this remained a lifelong hobby and pastime. There was nothing that made him happier or more excited than the first auction of the season. Many thanks to Dr. Zeiler, staff at Beausejour Hospital and Homecare Workers for their kindness and support in the last couple years. As he wished, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service celebrating Howard's life will be held on Monday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB with Pastor Norm Neufeld officiating. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Beausejour Hospital, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0 or to a charity of one's choice.
