EVELYN ARGEREE MCMAIN STILES Evelyn Argeree McMain Stiles was born April 22, 1921 in Oakdale, LA and departed this life November 4, 2006 in Shreveport after living the past 32 years in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 10 in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Shreveport, LA. She was a homemaker, caterer, book store clerk and hospital information desk worker, but spent the years in Winnipeg with her partner of 34 plus years, the late Harrell Enis, helping to manage Manitoba properties that at one time totaled almost 8,000 acres that she and he owned both separately and together. She was an accomplished seamstress, needleworker, gardener, genealogist and astrologist, and an inveterate traveler until the last years of her life. She especially loved cats and provided a home to many of them over the years. Preceding her in death were her husband, Arthur E. Stiles; her stepdaughter, Dorothy Walker, and her parents, Robert Cornelius and Ellen McDaniel McMain. Surviving her are her children; Maburl Schober, Shreveport, LA, Amy Wallace, Minneapolis, MN, and Arthur Stiles and wife, Mary, Atlanta, GA, her grandchildren; Weyman Trichel and wife, Anita, Pittsburgh, PA, Coleman Schober, IV, Osaka, Japan, Stephanie Huss and husband, Steve, Minneapolis, MN, Tracy Graber, Minneapolis, MN; Wendy Feigenbaum and husband, Bryan, Ormond Beach, FL, Arthur H. Stiles, Jr. and wife, Mary, Las Vegas, NV, Shannon Stiles, Atlanta, GA and Lara Brinson and husband, Tommy, Savannah, GA, her great-grandchildren; Jean Marie and Arianna Trichel, Pittsburgh, David, Jacob and Sara Huss and Kassidy Graber, Minneapolis, Viviana and Jake Feigenbaum, Ormond Beach, also, Bill and Nancy Enis, Marietta, GA, Mike and Carolyn Enis, Nigeria and Edna Daniels, Pineville. She is also survived by two very close friends in Winnipeg, Carol Wood-Friesen and Edith Moore, who made it possible for her to remain in Winnipeg, which she loved, for several years after her health began to fail. Evelyn's family is grateful to them and their husbands for their love and protection of her, and to her longtime attorney and friend, Donald George and his family. She embraced life with a passion, believed in the Resurrection, committed herself wholeheartedly to everything she embraced; she loved and was loved. She requested that memorials be made to the Salvation Army's Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB or to the charity of one's choice.
