OWEN JAMES LYNCH June 7, 1933 November 8, 2006 Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Owen Lynch passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 73 years. Owen is survived by his sister Patricia Cook; brothers-in-law Mike Cook and Ken Burwash, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Catherine Lynch and by his sister Kathleen (Kay) Burwash. Throughout his working life, Owen was employed with the Manitoba Liquor Commission. He was an assistant manager at a number of different stores in Winnipeg. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs (Barney and Rusty) and his friends at the Legion. Owen was a member of Our Lady of Victoria Parish. Owen's faith meant a great deal to him and was very strong. He was generous in so many ways and he supported numerous charities. Though he suffered through much illness in his life, he never lost his sense of humour. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 14, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, 254 Arnold Street, Winnipeg, with Rev. Father Boguslaw Wardzinski, presiding. Interment will follow at a later date. The family would like to thank the nursing and medical staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their kind care of Owen during his recent illness. A special thank you is also extended to Norm Clayton for his care of Rusty while Owen was in hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Owen's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB., R2L 1X3, or to a charity of ones choice.
