JOYCE CLARK (nee MACWILLIAM) With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Clark, of MacGregor Manitoba. On Friday, November 10, 2006 at Portage District General Hospital, Joyce passed away in her 80th year after a long and courageously fought illness. Her parents, William and Elizabeth (nee Stone) MacWilliam, her sister Florence and brother Walter predeceased her. Joyce always lovingly remembered her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Ellen (nee Hanna) Clark; brothers-in-law Sid Hay and Roy Harkness; sisters and brothers-in-law Annie and Merton Lindsay and Kathleen and Fred Borton; nieces Diane and Laura Lindsay and nephews Ross Harkness and Tim Lindsay. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 58 years, Jack; her daughters Myrna (Chris) Miles, Lesley Clark (Leslie MacFarlane), Dayle (Mac) MacDonald with cherished grandson Tyr, and daughter Jackie Clark (Rob Tuzzolino). Joyce will also be sadly missed by her loving sister Betty, her cousins, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, all very special to her. Born at the MacWilliam family farm in 1926, Merle Joyce MacWilliam was educated in MacGregor and after leaving school worked in MacGregor at the Bluebird Cafe. Joyce married Jack Clark in 1948. She worked alongside Jack on their farm near Katrime, building a successful farm and raising their family. Jack and the girls have many happy memories of those years on the farm as Joyce fostered volumes of laughter and love in her family. She was an avid gardener and throughout her life created many beautiful gardens. She was actively involved in her community and her church: first the Beaver United Church and later the MacGregor United Church. Joyce loved to dance and attended many square and old-time dances with Jack. In 1985, Joyce and Jack moved from their farmhouse to their new home in MacGregor, and enjoyed travel to many places such as Mexico, Alaska, Europe, Hawaii, Cuba, Texas and the Caribbean. Joyce was an active member of the MacGregor Golf and Country Club and loved to golf whenever she could. She was always a willing worker and offered her help and organizational skills to her family and to many community groups. We miss Joyce very much, and we know that she is at peace now, having left a legacy of love. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers of CancerCare Manitoba and Winnipeg HSC, particularly Dr. Krepart and Dr. Lotocki. We also sincerely thank the doctors and staff of the Portage District General Hospital for their understanding, professionalism and care. Memorial service will take place at MacGregor United Church, MacGregor, on Thursday November 16, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Katrime Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB T3E 0V9 787-4141 or to a charity of your choice. A tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Joyce by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 857-4021. www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
