Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE EDWIN (TED) HAY Peacefully at St. Norbert on November 10, 2006 surrounded by his family, George Edwin (Ted) Hay, entered the next phase of his life. He will be ever remembered by his loving wife, Grace, with whom he shared his life for 58 years and their sons, Jim, Rick, both of Calgary, Frank (Carolyn), and Brian of Winnipeg. Pop will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Alison, Brent, Cam (Elissa), Blair, and Graeme. He is also survived by sister, Mary (Glen) Hotel of Brandon and his brother Don (Edith) of Minnedosa; sister-in-law Eleanor McIntosh of Virden, and brothers-in-law, Bill Pattinson (Rae) of Milwaukee, and Ted Pattinson (Joan) of Calgary. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gordon and Morris. Ted was born June 23, 1923 on the family farm in the Sight Hill district, near Austin, MB. He joined the Air Force during The Second World War and was stationed at Kaupasking as an air frame mechanic. He married Grace Pattinson in 1948 and raised four sons on their farm in the Melvin district. After 20 years of hard work and successfully managing the farm, the family moved to Winnipeg, where he was employed by Case Equipment, and then entered the real estate profession. Ted was well known for his knowledge of property in Fort Garry and then at Falcon Lake. It was at Falcon that the family enjoyed their happiest moments, especially when the grandchildren were young. Ted was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and had many happy and fun times on the farm, Fort Richmond, and at Falcon. A very special thanks is extended to the staff at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home, who showed compassion during the last few years. The family is eternally grateful for your efforts. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15 at Thomson In The Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St, Winnipeg, R3L 9Z9. Rest in peace Pop. The lake is waiting.
