Date of Passing: Nov 10, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAIL SANDRA COWLEY (nee ROBINSON) July 14, 1940 - November 10, 2006 It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Great-Aunt, Gail Cowley. She was predeceased by her husband Richard; her son Troy; her brother Jack, and her parents, John and Jean Robinson. Gail will be missed by her son Todd (Kristine) and her grandchildren, Laurel, Meghan and Ryan. Gail will be lovingly remembered by her sister Lorraine (Bill); brother Monty (Lil), and sister-in-law Audree; her nieces, Susan, Colleen (Art), Tracey (Darrell) and nephew Brant (Mona), and grand-nephews, Josh, Tyler, Brad, Dallan and grand-niece Cara. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews in Alberta and Ontario. Gail's focus was her family. Taking care of her husband and two sons was her main priority. Her best friend was her sister, Lorraine; they were always together. Vacations and holidays were planned as one big family, and her nieces and nephew thought of her as their second Mom. There are fond memories of summers spent at the beach, and people watching at the airport. Saturday night was remembered as the family get-together night. Family gatherings will not be the same. After her husband's sudden and premature passing, Gail raised her two sons alone. She had to face many new challenges like learning to drive, maintaining her house, and working outside the home. Gail met these challenges; she enjoyed her adult children, being a grandmother, and spoiling her grandchildren. The last three years were difficult for Gail, coping with the tragic death of her youngest son, Troy, and the passing of her mother, Jean. Gail enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles. She loved a good laugh. She looked forward to lunches with the hockey moms, shopping with her sister, and outings with her good friends. Although she pretended otherwise, she loved all her dogs over the years. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Gail's name to a charity of choice or the Kidney Foundation of Canada (730 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8), or the Winnipeg Humane Society (5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3).
