MELINDA SHORE To our great sorrow, daughter, sister, aunt, dim-sum partner and friend, Melinda Shore has gone to join her creator and other loved ones who have prepared the way for her. Melinda died November 12, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital after a brief and courageous but brutal battle with colorectal cancer. She was 40 years old. She leaves to grieve her passing parents Fred and Lucy; sister Dierdre (Trevor); nephew Kyle; nieces, Aimée and Bethany; aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many wonderful friends and colleagues. Last but not least she leaves her two feline babies , Bella and Cornell, who have been adopted by her parents. Melinda was predeceased by her grandmother Aimée Saquet; grandfather Sid McDonald; grandmother Patricia Driscoll; grandmother Theresa O'Brien; grandfather Robert Shore; her aunt Lorraine Arsenault and uncle Louis McDonald. Melinda's was a beautiful soul; she took her time at everything she did and savored every moment. She loved music, books and movies. It is not a coincidence that she worked for music stores and bookstores throughout her relatively short life. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to do cross stitching. She has left several beautiful pieces that we will always treasure. Through her friends we got to know other aspects of Melinda's character. One friend said Melinda would probably tell us not to be sad because of her early departure but, rather, that she enjoyed every minute of every day of every year she was with us. She would also probably tell us to slow down, enjoy and appreciate everything and everyone in our lives. Another friend said that by doing so, Melinda would know and be happy that we have all become better people for having known her. Rest in peace, Melinda, free from all pain. You will always be in our hearts. Our sincerest thanks to the many wonderful people who were so supportive of her and of us during the last few weeks. The list is very long and includes her pastor, many friends and colleagues, our own family, friends, neighbours and colleagues, her excellent and caring doctors and last, but not least, the devoted caregivers from 4U4 and 5U1 at Seven Oaks Hospital. We appreciate everything that was done for her and for us. Melinda chose to be cremated and a memorial service has been arranged for 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2006 at Desjardins Funeral Home at 357 Des Meurons. Father Fred Olds will officiate.
