Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS ELIZABETH JOHNSON (nee ROBERTSON) Peacefully, on Thursday, November 9, 2006, Doris formally of Domain, Manitoba passed away at the Poseidon Care Centre at the age of 92 years. Doris was born in Toronto on March 3, 1914, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Robertson of Craigellahie, Scotland. She was raised in Melita, MB and in 1933 entered the St. Boniface School of Nursing. This led to a career in private nursing. In 1941, she married George Milne. George passed away in 1945. In 1948, she married Elmer Johnson and moved to the Domain area, where they farmed until their retirement. Doris was predeceased by her husband Elmer and daughter Doreen. She is survived by her sons, Don (Daphne) of Domain and Ken (Elaine) of Oak Bluff. Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren, Keith (Claudia) and Grant Bullington, Laurel (Craig) Thorn, David (Mandy) Johnson, Carolyn (Brian) Hoessler, Leslie, Alan and Patricia Johnson and one great-grandchild Eric Bullington. Also surviving are son-in-law Burke Bullington and sister-in-law Margaret Johnson as well as many nieces and nephews. Community service was very important to Doris. She was a charter and life member of Domain Legion Auxiliary No. 208 and a life member of the Manitoba Women's Institute. After retiring to Winnipeg, she volunteered for the Children's Hospital Book Market and received an award for her 22 years of service. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside, Fort Richmond on November 25 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
