GEORGE JOSEPH PFEIFER It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Joseph Pfeifer on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his wife Nora (nee Gothard) whom he loved with all his heart. George will be lovingly remembered by his sons; Anthony (Brenda) and Phillip; granddaughters Nora Marie and Cher MacDonald (Doug); great-grandchildren Samantha, Paige and Lily Ellis; brother Arthur; stepbrothers, William and Rudolf; stepsisters, Rose Mintenko and Gertrude Dowling, he will also be sadly missed by many other family, friends and other grandchildren. George served overseas during The Second World War and after his discharge in 1946 gave 25 years of faithful service to the Department of Veteran Affairs. They are not lost who find the light of sun and stars and God. Rest In Peace The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Thank you to the staff on T7 at Deer Lodge Centre for all your hard work and support through the eight years that George was your resident. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire donations in George's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
