Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICANOR MINGARACAL It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Nicanor Mingaracal on November 11, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Nicanor leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 31 years, Elizabeth, son Alan (Anna), daughters Lisa and Raquel (Elmer), his grandchildren Nicholas, Kathlyn, J.R., and T.J., and our beloved dog, Neeka. Nicanor will also be sadly missed by his mother, Soledad Mingaracal; brothers Dionisio (Flor), Franco (Carmen), Jesus (Peling), Antolin (Cora) and sisters, Fely (Rudy), Rose (Desi), Connie (Sean), Jovie (Arnel); all of his nieces and nephews from the U.S. and the Philippines. Predeceased by his infant daughter Eleanor; father Alejo Mingaracal; brothers Hipolito, Alfredo and sister Rebecca. Nicanor was born in Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines. He served in the Air Force for nine years before immigrating to Winnipeg in 1976 to join his wife and start a family. He worked at Dominion Tanners for 26 years and retired in 2004. He was an avid golfer who played the sport with love and passion. He also enjoyed bowling, curling, and watching NFL football (49ers). He was also an active Charter Member of St. Peter's Council of the Knights of Columbus. Around the house, he can always be found watching Jeopardy! , listening to his music, singing karaoke, practicing his putting and chipping skills, maintaining the house, and constantly adding more electronics, gadgets, tools and golf accessories to his expanding collection. Outside of the house, he can be seen taking morning walks at Polo Park with friends, shopping for bargains, practicing at the driving range, playing at the courses, camping, spending the July long weekend at his friend's, Jimmy's, cottage at Winnipeg Beach with his fellow PAGASA members and their wives, spending time with Mom, and taking relaxing walks with Neeka. Our family would like to acknowledge all of our family members, relatives and friends who have visited, prayed and supported us through this difficult time. Thank you for providing flowers, food, drinks and other goodies during the prayers at our house. It is comforting to know how much love is shared for Dad in this time of need. Lamay (viewing) will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street.
