JOYCE M. GIBSON September 13, 1934 - November 12, 2006 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, on November 12, 2006 Joyce passed away at the Brandon General Hospital at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon in 1990; parents, George in 1969 and Mary in 1998. Joyce will be sadly missed by her children, Jeanette (Rod) Gibson, Lorraine Inkster, Allen (Wendy), Bruce (Cheryl), Pat (Ron) Leiman, and Doug; grandchildren, Tara, Jacqueline, Mike, Ryan, Tammy, James, Willie, Steven, Stephanie, and Allison; great-grandchildren, Randy, Cory, and Bradley. Joyce will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family and her sisters, Bernice Klein of Brandon and Janice Stock of Armstrong BC and their families. Joyce grew up in the Arden-Sinclairville area where she met her husband Gordon. Together they moved to Winnipeg in 1958 and lived in the Kirkfield Park area for over 40 years. She was involved in the community and cared for many children in the area. Joyce was a member of the A.N.A.F. #283 Ladies Auxiliary and the Khartum Temple, she enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing, knitting, and all kinds of puzzles. Mom's door was always open to anyone at anytime for anything. Mom was strong willed and she was always there when we needed her. The family would like to thank all of mom's caregivers for the attention shown to her over the past years. And a very special thank you to her sister Bernice for the love and long hours till the end. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment and reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R6.
