EDITH CHUNYK It is with sadness the family announce the passing of Edith Chunyk (nee Newman) on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the age of 83, at Kildonan Care Nursing Home with family by her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank; her parents; sister Nicky and brother Gordon Newman; two nephews and several aunts and uncles. She leaves to mourn her sisters, Dorothy Howard (Dick), Danie Slusarenko all of Winnipeg, Pat (Ted) of Calgary and Marlene of Tucson, AZ. She had no children, but her many nieces and nephews that will miss her. Edith spent 25 years, until retirement, with the T. Eaton Co. She loved baseball and went to all games. She could not participate, but loved to see Frank and nephews go on the slopes at the ski club. One thing she did enjoy was summer sailing with Frank and her family at the Lake of the Woods Sailing Club. She lit up a room with her smile. She will be missed. Thank you to all the staff on the 2nd Floor at the Care Home, they were really wonderful to her. Also thank you to her sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Dick who cared for her from the time her husband passed away. Funeral services to be held Saturday, November 18, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave.
