HAZEL DOREEN MACLEAN 1928 - 2006 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Hazel Doreen MacLean, on Monday, November 13, 2006. Doreen was predeceased by Donald, her husband of 53 years, in July of 2003. She never recovered from this loss, and missed Dad until the day she joined him. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Donald (Donna), Neil, and Cheryl Ann. Also left are her grandchildren, Allison, Donnie (Keely), Laura, and Levon, as well as numerous friends and extended family. Doreen was a loving mother and grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own. Her greatest reward was her four grandchildren, whom she cherished. We all share fond memories of childhood summers spent at Winnipeg Beach with Mom and Dad. In Mom's later years she still enjoyed going down to the beach to watch the waves crash and feel the wind on her face. She also took special comfort in curling up in front of her fireplace, one of her favourite spots. Doreen developed many friends in the beach community where she loved to share a game of cards and perhaps a good laugh. Mom had a great sense of humour and saw the best in all. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for all the care and attention given to our mother in her final days. Also a special thank you to friends and relatives who took time out of their busy lives to visit Mom, especially Jean Barrs, an exceptionally devoted friend. Those we love don't go away They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near Still loved, still missed, and very dear. Gone but not forgotten Although we are apart, Your spirit lives within us Forever in our heart. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca
