Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBJORGVIN EINAR ALBERTSON July 19, 1912 November 16, 2006 It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our loving father, afi, and lang afi, Bjorgvin Albertson on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Gimli Community Health Centre. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Florence, Albert, Sigurlin (Lloyd) Sigvaldason, Marvin, Arlene (Kenneth) Peterson and son-in-law Ingvar Karvelson; his grandchildren Karen (John) Dziad, Brenda (Einar) Einarsson, Laurel (Blaine) Tessier, Doriane (Paul) Johnson, Kara (Peter) Peiluck, Kevin (Christine) Peterson, Kendra (Mark) Sewell, Kristi (Wes) Henry and Kelly Peterson; his great-grandchildren Shane, Morgan and Keye Dziad, Erin Sigvaldason, Elaine and Austin Einarsson, Aira and Reese Tessier, Dawson Johnson, Aurora and Stefan Peiluck, Jon and Amber Peterson, Ashley Peterson, Darren and Brady Sewell and Jillian and Jasmine Henry. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Sigurlin (Lena); daughter Doreen Karvelson; parents Helgi and Dorthea Albertson; brothers Peter and Albert and one child in infancy. Bjorgvin was born in Arnes and was raised by his grandparents Albert and Bjorg Jonson. On February 16, 1932 he married Sigurlin (Lena) Sveinson and settled at Mel where they raised their family. Dad started fishing at an early age and fished the three seasons for over 70 years. He enjoyed the lake, its peace and tranquility. Family was very important to Dad. He loved having everyone around him. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His storytelling, teasing and practical jokes will always be remembered. Dad's unconditional love, mild manner, hard work and dedication to family and friends will live on in our hearts forever. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. R.C. Patel and the nurses at the Gimli Community Health Centre and all the homecare workers for their compassion and kindness shown to Dad. A funeral service will be held at the Gimli Lutheran church on Tuesday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Vert officiating. Interment to follow in the Arnes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Kevin Peterson, Mark Sewell, Wes Henry, Paul Johnson, Peter Peiluck, John Dziad, Blaine Tessier and Einar Einarsson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arnes Cemetery or the charity of your choice. Goda Nott Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
