JACK SMITH January 18, 1945 - November 13, 2006 Peacefully on November 13, 2006 at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, MB, Jack Smith aged 61 years of Winnipeg, MB, formerly of Lundar, MB. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria in 1989. He is survived by his son Scott Smith; step-sons Glenn Summerton and Gary (Irene) Summerton and family; his mother-in-law Inga Garbutt (nee Einarson); sisters-in-law, Louise Erickson and her family; Sandra and Welland Thorgilsson and their family; and his special friend Bev. For many years he was the bartender in the #1 Legion in Winnipeg, he then worked in the Lundar area in the 1980's, then due to failing health moved back to Winnipeg. He loved to keep people entertained by teasing, laughing and telling jokes. He loved watching television, and his trips back to Lundar, to play cards with family at Louise's. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Lundar Legion Hall, with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Interment to follow at the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers for Jack that day will be all Legion members in attendance. A thank you to the Riverview Health Centre, and to Bev for the wonderful care you gave Jack.
