Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN LELIA KRAWCHUK February 5, 1928 November 15, 2006 On November 15, 2006, Eileen passed peacefully with her family at her side, after a lengthy illness. Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Walter, her sons Nick (Carol), and Gary and daughter Donna-Lee (Adrian), grandchildren Jeanna (Laurence), Doreen (Chris), Daniel (Roxane), Dawn (Danny), and Vernon (Kamila) and her very special great-grandsons Joshua, Dominic, and Benjamin. She was predeceased by her sister Jean, father Nicholas, mother Anna and great-grandson Devon. Eileen was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating in 1944 from Lord Selkirk High School. Eileen was very active in sports at school and loved to dance. She was an accomplished mandolin player with orchestras from the Ukrainian Labour Temple and the Association of United Ukrainian Canadians. She was especially proud of entertaining Canadian service men during the Second World War. During her working life she held various positions. Some of her happiest memories were from working at the University of Manitoba, Department of Agricultural Economies. She was an ardent supporter of Folklorama and served on the Board of Directors of the Folk Arts Council of Manitoba. She put in many years of volunteering at the Lviv Pavillion and was proud of her family's involvement. Special thanks to Dr. K.S. Jolly for all his years of care, the doctors and nurses on 5A and 6A at St. Boniface Hospital, and most recently to Dr. P. Daeninck for his special care. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Labour Temple, Pritchard and MacGregor. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Dear Walter & Family, It was with great sadness that we heard of Eileen's passing. She shall always remain in our memories as a happy, loving and giving person. We shared many happy times with her and you, Wally, as well as with our close friends Doris, Francis, Blondie, Mary, Eugene, Scotty, Sylvia, Danny, Joe, Hank.
