Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUBY CRAWFORD October 12, 1922 - November 17, 2006 In the early hours of Friday, Mom passed on. She fought a great battle against ALS always facing the loss of functions with courage and dignity. She was an inspiration to all who loved her. Mom and Dad (Gordon Crawford) married in 1939. Dad passed away in May of 1968. They had four girls, Pat, Sandra, Maureen and Kim. The family grew to include son-in-laws, six grandchildren and their spouses, seven great-grandchildren, two nieces and their families. All of us were the most important part of her life. Mom worked at the Mall Medical where she met and remained dear friends with Agnes Winzoski and Jean Juskon. Later, she ran the cafeteria at City Waterworks where she had a great time with the people who were a highlight in her life. She went to live with her sister, Lorraine Skursky, in Welland, ON for 10 years and they were great companions. Lorraine will miss her greatly. When Mom was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) we moved her back to Winnipeg and were able to surround her with our love and support. Many people helped make it possible for Mom to stay in her own apartment: Dr. A. Casey, Donna Terwin and her team at the Motor Neuron Disease Clinic at the Deer Lodge Hospital; ALS, Diana Rasmussen; Home Care: Sue Erickson, Brenda Schneider and assigned home care providers, especially Bette Elam and Tess Summers who went above and beyond their duty to help Mom; Palliative Care: Sandy, Brenda Smith and the rest of the team made the end so much easier and lead us to Riverview Palliative Care for the last three days. The staff were extremely kind. On behalf of our Mother, our family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who helped make her journey easier. Mom will be greatly missed by all of her family. We love you Mom. A private family interment will take place Monday, November 20 at 3:00 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS Manitoba, N108-2109 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS IN CARE OF: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVE. WEST 224-1525
