JOSEPH ANTON HAWRANIK Peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2006, Joseph Hawranik passed away at East Gate Lodge at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his daughter, Nancy (Patrick) and their daughter, Irene of Vancouver; son Frank (Monique) and their son Charlie of Pine Falls and son John (Debbie) and their sons, Drew and Jay of Stead. He is also survived by his sister, Helen and family of Toronto and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene, in 1970, brothers, Charlie and Victor and sister Rose. Dad was born November 13, 1919 in Whitemouth. He was proud of the time he spent hunting and trapping with his dog team, planting the orchard in British Columbia and working on the railroad. Dad spent many years with his family and friends fishing on the Winnipeg River. Dad loved to be outside working on his gardens and was proud to claim the first red tomato of the season. He will always be fondly remembered as Joe the Barber . You could always see him riding his bicycle around town. Dad met the love of his life, Irene Neiser, and married in 1950. They would eventually settle in the Pine Falls area where they raised their family, had many close friends and good times. When Mom passed away suddenly in 1970, the family was devastated. The support of family and friends was never forgotten. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20 at 1:00 pm at the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church in Powerview, with Rev. Fr. James Gray presiding. The family would sincerely like to thank the staff at East Gate Lodge for the excellent care, Dr Hugo Lambrecht and the Home Care Staff at the Pine Falls Hospital, and the residents of the Winnipeg River Manor.
