Alice Major (nee Beaucage) 1909 - 2006 Peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2006, it is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and friend. She did not go alone. She passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus with her son Olivier and daughter Lorraine at her side. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Donat, Olivier (Laura) and Lorraine; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Blanche and Lillian; and brothers, Leo and Roland. Mom was predeceased by her husband Ovila; children, Omer and Beatrice. Mom was born in Vassar, MB, in 1909 and moved to Winnipeg in 1962. She enjoyed working in Central Supply, St. Boniface Hospital, where she made many lifelong friends. Mom loved life, singing in the choir at Precious Blood until she was 90 years, dancing three times a week, bowling at Coronation Bowling Lanes, winning many trophies. Mom was active in the Norwood Royal Canadian Legion No. 43, working with the Ladies Auxiliary and being chaplain for the branch. Celebration of Mom's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22 at St. Timothy's Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd., with Father Blanchette Officiant. Special thanks to the Foyer Valade Nursing Home and all the staff for their loving and caring friendships. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or Foyer Valade Personal Care Home.
