VOLDEMARS (WALTER) DREIMANIS 1914 - 2006 Peacefully on November 16, 2006 Walter passed away at his home at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his wife Bertha (2004), stepsons Robert Jestadt and Paul Jestadt. Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, Tom and Tannis Jestadt, Jim and Linda Jestadt, Leona and Walter Saj, and Shirley Jestadt. Also seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He also leaves to mourn his daughter, Irena Alberga and family in Latvia. Walter was born in Latvia and came to Canada after the war in 1951. He settled in Ashern, MB and later moved to Winnipeg. He was employed by Christ Lutheran Church as a Landscaper/Caretaker and later worked for the Canadian Lutheran World Relief until his retirement in 1979. After a lengthy courtship, Walter married our mother, Bertha (Jestadt) in 1972 and was an excellent father figure in our home. He was a kind, patient and gentle person who was loved by all. Walter was a man with many artistic talents. He was well known for his beautiful hand woven baskets. Walter lived a long and fulfilling life and will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., located at 984 Portage Ave. (Aubrey Street entrance).
