Marni was born in Winnipeg, the daughter of Dr. William and Sadie Taylor. She was married to Jim Whalley from January 25, 1948 until his passing in 1981. She was also predeceased by her parents and brother Bill Taylor (Toronto) and sister Ruth Barber (Winnipeg). Mom will be greatly missed by her three children, Vicki (Ron) Laverty, Morden, Wendy Whalley, Winnipeg, David (Val) Whalley, Winnipeg; her grandchildren, Lindsay Barsalou (fiancé Steve) and Brent (Rochelle) Laverty and her great-grandchildren, Conner and Jacob Barsalou; her brother-in-law Leo Whalley, Edmonton and many nieces and nephews and their families in Winnipeg and Alberta. The family cherishes the memories of the many summers spent together at the cottage at Victoria Beach; long walks along the shore, feeding the wildlife, and eating the famous cinnamon buns and dream cookies from the bakery. Mom was a crossword puzzle addict and always kept a book beside every chair. She also loved to sew and knit, a pastime from which everybody benefited. Over the past few years Mom's health had been deteriorating. We the family would like to thank all of those involved in her care. A celebration of Marni's life will be held on Wednesday, November 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME 885-9715
