Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREV. D. ED BENNETT March 25, 1917 November 19, 2006 Ed Bennett succumbed to his battle with cancer in the early hours of Sunday, November 19, 2006 to be with his Lord and Saviour. Ed was predeceased by his first wife Ethel; his son Leonard; his second wife Constance; brothers, Jim and Bill; sister Ruth and three grandchildren. He is survived by son Don (Wendy); daughters, Marianne, Ellen and Evelyn (Ed); stepson Bob (Dorothy); stepdaughter Elaine (Bryan) and many grandchildren. Ed is also survived by one sister Evelyn. Dad received his calling after serving in the Navy in the Second World War. He received his B.A. in 1950 and received a degree in Theology and was subsequently ordained a United Church minister in 1953. Dad was raised on the farm and most definitely loved that lifestyle, even owning his own hobby farm near Miami, MB. But his true calling was to serve the Lord and he served Him at charges in Rathwell, Little Britain, Grandview, Newdale, Austin, Starbuck, Miami and Ninette. A private family interment of his ashes will take place. A memorial service will follow on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 2:00 at St. Paul's United Church in Morden, MB. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to a charity of their choice. Well done good and faithful servant! Doyle's Funeral Chapel of Morden, in care of arrangements.
