INA MAE RYPLANSKI (nee ARNFINSON) October 14, 1931 November 19, 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, and aunty, Ina Ryplanski. With her family by her side, Ina passed peacefully to be with the Lord. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Paul, of 51 years; daughters, Paulette (husband Paul Ducharme of Spruce Grove, AB), Paula (husband Darryl Marsch); sons, Teddy (wife Sherry), and Tim (wife Kim); 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ina's early years were spent enjoying life on the family farm near Lundar, MB. Ina later moved to Nelson House, MB with her parents John and Mae. There she met her lifetime chum, Matilda Jane Bonner. Matilda and Ina worked as nurse's aides at the northern nursing station in Nelson House. While in Nelson House Ina learned to trap, shoot, fish, hunt and the fur trading business. In the early 1950s she moved to Winnipeg where she met her husband Paul and married in 1955. Together they set out for a wonderful journey together. Paul worked for Manitoba Hydro which led them to settle in the town of Great Falls where Ina owned and operated the General Store. After Great Falls, Paul and Ina moved to the next adventure of owning and operating the St. Laurent Hotel. In the early 1970s they moved back to Winnipeg where Paul focused on his taxi cab business and Ina prepared for her next business adventure, owning and operating Caryl Baker Visage Cosmetics with her daughter Paula where they made and met many new friends in Eaton Place and Portage Place, during their 30 years of operation. Ina loved everyone she met and everyone loved Ina. She had many friends and was a very hard working lady. Ina will be missed by many. Special thanks to the Dialysis Unit at St. Boniface Hospital, Dr. Verrelli and all the staff of Ward 5E that cared for Ina through her brave and valiant finish. In celebration of Ina's wonderful life, a funeral service will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue (Aubrey Street entrance) at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 23. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Although it has been many years since I worked at Eaton Place with Ina, I have never forgotten her kindness and her generous nature. - Posted by: Dianne Grochoski (past employee and friend) on: Oct 20, 2014

  • Dear Ina: I just learned that I won't be seeing you for a while, so I wanted to tell you how much your friendship meant to me. Athough we haven't spoken much lately, I've often thought about our fun times at Visage. Your generosity and sense of humour were legendary. Even when you weren't feeling well you didn't complain, instead you chose to use laughter as your medicine. You always had a strong work ethic, you gave me a job when I needed one, and you taught me a great deal. I'm really going to miss you. Your friend, Nancy Baird-Wolf. - Posted by: Nancy Baird-Wolf (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2006
