Born: Feb 05, 1914
Date of Passing: Nov 19, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOLLY (ETHEL) ANDERSON February 5, 1914 November 19, 2006 This Sunday, surrounded by loving family and the sounds of Amazing Grace, Dolly peacefully passed over to join her son Larry; sisters, Bea and Jenny; brother Arthur; husband Paul; grandsons, Sean and Dylan, and parents Mabel and Edgar. Left to cherish precious memories of Dolly's love and kindness are her daughter Sandy; granddaughters, Jill, Michelle, and Katrina; grandsons, Bruce (Theresa) and Richard (Marzena); great-granddaughters, Maya and Mariah; cousin Ruby; family friends, Jackie (Bob) and Rod, and lifelong best friend June Clark. As a young woman, Dolly's dance card was always full. Her talent for the quickstep was legendary. Dolly took great pride in her time spent as a teacher at Steel Bridge School, inspiring and guiding young minds. Her students included siblings of the dashing Paul Anderson, whom she married in 1938. Dolly managed her husband's Real Estate office until she retired. After retiring, Dolly became something of a world traveler, exploring New Zealand, Europe, Hawaii, and Mexico. She spent many happy winters with her two sisters in Arizona, enjoying the beautiful golf courses and camaraderie. An avid theatre-goer, Dolly held many seasons' tickets to local productions. Dolly excelled at everything she put her hand to. She was a master seamstress, making sure Sandy was always the best-dressed in her class. She knitted and crocheted beautiful Afghans and clothing to keep us all cozy and warm. She was a great bowler, and she continued to golf (and win trophies, including an elusive hole in one!) until she was 88. Dolly kept her mind as spry as her body by doing crosswords and reading. She surprised many health care professionals by her continued voracity in reading, right up until the end. The epitome of graciousness, Dolly saw the good in everyone. She never had a complaint or a bad word, and never gloated over her successes. Dolly's family was her life. She took immense pleasure in the talents and success of all of her kin, inspiring pride and confidence in us all. We will always be grateful for her love. A service to celebrate Dolly's life, followed by lunch, will be held at Assiniboine Golf Club, 2045 Ness Ave., on Saturday, November 25 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment of her ashes will be held later. If so desired, donations in Dolly's name may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 245 Eglinton Ave. E, Suite 410, Toronto, ON M4P 3J1 or 1-888-267-2632
