Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryT. REA JERVIS T. Rea Jervis, a man of deep and quiet faith, went to his eternal reward on November 23, 2006 at the age of 81 years. Born and raised in Norwood, MB, Rea joined the Navy at age 18, and saw action in the Arctic Ocean, off the coast of Normandy during the invasion of Europe, and off the coast of Japan. In 1947 Rea married his sweetheart Jo (Juanita) and they were blessed with six children, Kerry, Greg (Gayle), Jack (Lori), Gary, Wendy (Kevin Haugan), Lynda (Jack Scheper); eight grandchildren, Jesse (Lisa), Ryan (Lindsay), Kristen, Lauren, Daryl, Carolyn, Reed and Amy, and one great-granddaughter, Jaryn. He was predeceased by two sons, Kerry and Gary. He also leaves to mourn, his sister Florence Sinclair of Winnipeg, and many loving nieces and nephews, among them Ann Paterson and Ruth Rampling. Rea worked for the Federal Government for 35 years and was a C.M.A. He achieved his dream of owning his own business, Edgewood Matting Ltd., which he successfully operated for 20 years. He conducted his business and led his life by Christian principles, and was respected by all. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 - 91 St., Edmonton. Rea was a member of Beulah Alliance Church, 17504 - 98 A Ave., where his Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with his son-in-law Pastor Kevin Haugan officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Association, in care of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Fraser Armstrong, and the Palliative Home Care nurses, especially Paulette Yakamenko, for their compassionate care during Rea's illness.
