PEGGY (NANA) PLEWS November 13, 1921 - November 22, 2006 On November 22, 2006 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Peggy (Nana) Plews, widow of the late George Plews passed away. Nana was predeceased by her husband George in 1999 and by her son David in 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by daughter Jean Walters (Morris); son Don (Ardell); daughter-in-law Lia; grandchildren, Stacey McFall (Russ), Mike Walters (Michelle), Nick Walters (Misty) and Shaleen Despins (Blair), and great-granddaughters, Flynn, Haley, Ireland and Audrey. Nana was born in Middlesboro, England where she met George, her future husband. They married in 1940. After the war they immigrated to Canada with son David and began a life of adventures in Manitoba. Nana was a loving, caring person to whom her family was her life. She was always there for us in good times and bad; a shoulder to lean on; never happier than at the family card games. She will be deeply missed by us all. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to her home care nurses, who became a part of her extended family; also to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital Emergency for all their kindness at such a difficult time. Rest easy, Mom. We will always love you. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home. Urn placement will take place in the Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in Nana's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, R2L 1X3, or to a charity of choice.
