LESLIE O'NEILL (GILL) MONEAS August 16, 1973 - November 20, 2006 Change of Date and Time of Service With deepest regrets and extreme sorrow the family of Leslie O'Neill Moneas (Gill) announces the sudden passing on Monday, November 20, 2006. Les has gone to be with his grandparents Peter and Marjorie Moneyas, Frank and Juliette Seymour, aunties Elaine Berens and Oriole Witford and cousin Todd Berens. He leaves to cherish his memory his companion in life and the mother of his children, Chantel; five children, Danielle, LJ, O'neill, Harlen and Hunter; his parents Morris and Zelma Moneas; mother-in-law Eileen Moneyas; brothers, Talon (Pat), Palm (April), Jeremy (Marsha), Blair, Jules and Alec. Also surviving are in-laws Ramona (Ed) and Devon; adopted sisters, Sheri Wood, Christine Bushie and Kelly Bushie; godfather Keith Beren; godchildren, Desirae Berens and Donovan Moneyas, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Les was a loving and caring father, he valued family which was his passion. Les always made sure his children were taken care of, he would always look forward to the evenings when he would spend time with his boys and Chantel. No matter how little Les had he always made the best of it. Les loved to laugh, make jokes and tease his family and friends and he always took the time to help others. Les treasured his nieces and nephews and would acknowledge them with throngs of hugs, smiles and kind words. Les enjoyed his job working alongside his co-worker and friend Gabby Hall in Wilderness Therapy, nurturing and caring for racing dogs. He was especially looking forward to this winter, he had planned to enter racing competitions. Along with his other talents, Les was blessed with his artistic abilities in painting, native arts and crafts. Wake services began at the Hollow Water Band Hall on Thursday, November 23. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27 at 10:00 a.m. also from the Band Hall. Interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Talon Moneas, Palm Moneas, Jeremy Moneas, Blair Moneas, Jules Moneas, Teddy Berens, Leon Moneyas and Gabby Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Alec Moneas, Fabian Seymour, Ashley Moneyas, Chico Moneyas, Henry Hardisty, Jerry Johnstone, Jamie Hardisty, Elliot Barker, Tim Johnstone, Michael Riek and Gordon Black.
