LILLIAN ROBERTS Peacefully with family by her side Lillian Roberts passed away on November 22, 2006 at the Poseidon Care Centre. Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her daughters Roslyn (David), Sandra (Craig); and grandchildren, Lisa (James), Sarah and Daniel Bertnick, Fraser and Emily McGlenen, extended family and friends as well as favourite dogs Toffee and Dugald. She was predeceased by her husband Jack and all of her siblings, twin brother Wilbert Johnson, brother Steini Johnson and her only sister Gwen Anderson. Lil was born on July 23, 1915 in the Bru District in the R.M. of Argyle, Manitoba. She attended high school in Riverton, Manitoba. She worked in Winnipeg until her marriage to Jack in 1949. In 1999 Lil and Jack celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her two girls. Her family and her home were extremely important to her. She was a gracious and generous woman and all were welcome in her home. Lil was a talented dressmaker and an accomplished artist. In later years she was a member of the church Guild at St. James Anglican Church. She had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and cherished the times that they spent together. She loved travelling with Jack to warm places especially Mexico. Summers were spent enjoying their cottage in Matlock. A memorial service celebrating Lil's life will take place at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 755 Elm St. on Wednesday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Phil Barnett officiating. The family wishes to thank all the kind and caring staff at the Poseidon Care Centre especially Lil's niece Lynda Johnson and companion Cindy Stange.
