JOHN BANMANN It is with heavy hearts and with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at the age of 83 years. John was predeceased by his parents, Johann and Sara; his brother Peter and his sisters, Tina and Suzie. John will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife, Katherine; sons, Sig (Angie), John (Bertha) and David (Leslie); grandchildren, Kristin (Val), Jeff, Darin (Rachel), Andrea (Trevor), Rhonda (Ian), Brooke, Carlie and Jay; great-grandchildren, Luca, Ethan, Tymin, Cole, Reed, Noah, Mia and Ava and his adopted grandchildren, Reuben and Phoebe. John was born in Neundorf, Ukraine on March 3, 1923. He married Katherine Klassen in December of 1946 in Germany. They came to Canada in 1948 and settled in Winnipeg. John was a partner of B+W Construction for 30 years until his retirement in 1983. John loved hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren at the lake. In later years, he enjoyed the gift of his great-grandchildren and spent many hours sharing with them his love of the outdoors. The family extends their thanks to the staff of the First Floor Ward at Concordia Place, with special thanks to Karen. The staff always brought a smile to Dad's face. In keeping with John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Concordia Place, 1000 Molson St. on Monday, November 27 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to the Concordia Foundation, re: Concordia Place Courtyard would be greatly appreciated. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So He closed His arms around you, And said Come follow Me. . You didn't deserve what you went through, So God gave you a rest. His garden must be beautiful, For He only picks the best. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
