MARIA ANTONIA COSTA (nee CONIA) Our beloved Mother, Nonna, and Nonna Grande passed away peacefully on November 24, 2006 at the Victoria Hospital. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Nicola (Carmela) Costa, and daughter Lina (Mike) Castagna; grandchildren, Saverio (Lori) Castagna, Tony Costa, Tony Castagna, Mario Castagna, Franco (Robin) Costa, Rina (Frank) Consiglio, Nick (Jen) Costa; great-grandchildren, Dante, Cassandra, and Isabella Consiglio, Daniel and Alexander Costa, Sophia Costa, and Lauren Maria Castagna. As well she will be remembered by many family members in Italy. Maria was born in Plaesano, Italy, and came to Canada in 1967. Family was always her greatest joy. To her, family was everything and she worked hard every day of her life to ensure they were never in need. She showed her love for us through her generosity and devotion. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital for your care. A heartfelt thank you to Ivy for the kindness, support and compassion you have shown mamma over the last three years. Prayers will be said Monday, November 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church with Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum located at 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons. Honorary Pallbearer will be her cherished granddaughter Rina. Flowers are graciously declined.
