ALICE REBECCA MACLAREN Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Alice passed away peacefully on November 20, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Ken in 1974; eldest son Karl in 2004; sister Lil Chaval (and John) of Vermillion Bay, Ontario and brother Fred who was killed overseas in the Second World War. Born in 1918 in Carievale, Saskatchewan, Alice met Ken (the only man worth chasing) at Mrytle, Manitoba and raised three boys in Winnipeg, living most of her life in Fort Garry. She is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Carol of Calgary, Brian and Anne of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Jeanne, Karen (Chris) Kauenhofen; great-grandchildren, Brendan and Erika; niece June (Wayne) Finch; nephew John (Carolyn) Chaval of Vermillion Bay and other extended family members. The family extends special thanks to the caring staff at Victoria Hospital for keeping Alice comfortable during her brief stay. A family service was held on Thursday, November 23. If desired, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. We shed tears that she is gone and smile because she has lived, loved and been loved.
