RONALD EDWARD WESTWOOD Peacefully, after a short illness, Ron passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, November 23, 2006 two weeks short of his 66th birthday. Ron was born in Winnipeg on December 6, 1940. His father, Alfred George Westwood and his mother Jeannette Westwood (Duncan) predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn (Collett); son Bryan; daughter Dana (Recksiedler); grandchildren, Sean Westwood, Ashley and Taylor Recksidler; sister Penny (Peter) Kiely; sister-in-law Judy (Bob) Clark, plus many nephews and nieces. Ron worked for Manitoba Telephone System for 37 years, retiring in 1995 at which time he moved to Arborg, MB. In respect of Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the St. Nicholas Parish Hall located in the Arborg and District Multicultural Heritage Village - one half mile east of the Arborg turn off on Hwy. 68 - on Monday, November 27 at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the paramedics and the staff in MICU and 4A for their kind and compassionate care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Manitoba Branch, in Ron's name. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
