CARL BENSON It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Carl Benson, 48 at Bethesda Hospital. on Thursday, November 23 2006 following a lengthy, yet courageous battle with COPD. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years Gabbie; two children Tracey and Doug as well as three sisters, Cathy, Janice and Jennifer (Richard). Also left to mourn are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Carl was an extraordinary person who touched many lives both young and old. He always looked out for other people, making himself available even when he was ill. Carl was a straight shooter and although he could sometimes be blunt, he was often sought out for advice. He said it like it was and that's just how he said it. His humour was unusual but he enjoyed making people laugh. The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Werier, Dr. Bshouty, the lung transplant team at HSC, Dr Reimer and the nurses on Main Floor. Viewing and prayers will take place Tuesday, November 28 from 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. funeral service to follow Wednesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing prior to the service at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Ste. Anne, MB. In lieu of flowers, please sign your organ donor card and make your family aware.
