RUTH SEWERYN It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Ruth Seweryn, on Friday, November 24, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre. She passed away peacefully in her sleep after a three year battle with cancer. She spent her last days in the caring hands of the staff at Riverview to whom we are grateful for their comfort and concern. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Margaret and Barbara; grandchildren, Nicholas, Craig and Emily. Ruth was born in East Prussia and was the youngest of eight children. Her father died when she was three and at the age of 15 the Second World War broke out and she was captured by the Russians and spent a year in a prison camp. After the war in 1951 she immigrated to Canada where she met Frank Seweryn while working at Manitoba Tent and Awning. They were married for 53 years when Dad passed away in July of this year. Ruth had many hobbies and interests in life. She enjoyed bonsai gardening and exotic plants, history, current events, and sports. She was a collector of pins, rocks and shells and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Interment Polish National Cemetery.
