Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDEMETRO (DAN) TSCHERNY With sadness we announce Dan's passing away on Sunday, November 26, 2006, at the Stonewall Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife Vera in 1987. Dan is survived by his daughter Ingrid (Ward), granddaughter Angila, grandson Kenneth (Laura) and great-grandson Evan. Dan was born in Belz, Ukraine, on July 9, 1920. He loved to travel, crossing Europe to Germany where he met and married Vera Swartz. They had one daughter, Ingrid. In 1951 they immigrated to Canada, landing in Nova Scotia. Shortly after they decided to come to Manitoba, settling on a farm in the Komarno district. Later they sold this farm and moved their house and buildings to farmland they purchased in Stony Mountain. He was employed in Winnipeg by Canada Packers as a butcher and retired from there in 1982 after 30 years' service. Dan and his wife enjoyed many winters in Cassa Grande, Arizona. He continued to winter there after her death where he leaves many friends, especially his dear friend, Virginia Goettsch. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held in Stonewall on Friday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street. MacKenzie Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
