DONALD KNIGHT 1928 - 2006 It is with deep sorrow that we announce that our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on November 25, 2006 at the age of 78. Don leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Penny of 52 years; his son Brian; his daughters Lisa (Gary) and Cindy (Perry); grandchildren Tess and Lex. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will all miss his wonderful sense of humour, his caring nature and his great love for his family. Don was born September 9, 1928 and lived all his life in Winnipeg. He married the love of his life, Penny on March 6, 1954 and shortly thereafter settled in Transcona, were they made their home and raised their three children. Don worked for the Provincial Government Vehicles Branch for 43 years, retiring in 1990. Don had a passion for cars and spent a lot of his free time working on vehicles at home in his garage. Don loved traveling and camping, taking his family on trips to wonderful places all over the U.S. After his retirement, he and Penny enjoyed the winter months in Arizona. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 E. and Navin Rd. Private family interment will be held in Transcona Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special Thank-you to Dr. Paunovic and the caring nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital's Intensive Care Unit. We would also like to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital for the great care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB., R3A 1P6, or a charity of choice.
