JACK BISHOP It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, on November 25, 2006, at the St. Boniface Hospital. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his two sons Howard (Debra) and Cliff (Linda); two grandchildren Darren (Michelle) and Charlene (Chris); great-grandchildren Dylan and Hudson; sister Emily; special friend Marilyn Gaudreau, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Dad was predeceased by his wife Fay (nee Howard) in 2002, his parents Sadie and Cliff, his brother Charles and sisters Nellie, Lillian and Dorothy. Dad was born in Stonewall, MB where he attended school and worked part-time at his dad's butcher shop. In 1942 he enlisted in the Navy where he survived his ship being torpedoed. On a shore pass, he returned home to marry his childhood sweetheart Fay in 1943, and after the war they made a home in Norwood Flats where they raised their family and became involved with the community. Dad worked for 46 years as a cattle buyer with Canada Packers, retiring in 1985. Dad played pool, curling and pitched fastball for the Hoof and Horn. He coached his sons in fastball with the Norwood Jets and eventually became a loyal fan. Dad was a generous man, who loved to joke. He will be sadly missed. The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Interment to follow the next day. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949 or toll free 1-888-233-4949.
