Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE CHRISTINE BUCHOLZ (nee KERR) Peacefully following a brief illness, wife, mother and grandmother, Marie passed away on November 26, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. Marie will be sadly missed by husband Rudy, son Bob (Pat) and beloved grandchildren, Jon, Lisa and Jessica. She is survived by brothers-in-law, Matt, Ernie (Jean) Max (Nettie), Harold; sister-in-law Nancy; cousin Delores and special niece Eileen and brother Don. Marie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents, brother Bob; sister Shirley; sisters-in-law, Martha, Jean and Anna and brother-in-law Len. Marie was born in Winnipeg on September 24, 1922. Marie met Rudy on the banks of the Red River in St. Vital. She was 16 years old at the time. Marie had high graduating marks when she left high school which set the stage for promotions with the Department of Finance in Ottawa, where she worked during the war. She became a supervisor of a large department in a very short time. Marie married Rudy in Ottawa on his return from overseas and again took up residence in Winnipeg. Marie was a member of the Ganderettes and more recently the Eager Beavers, and the Elmwood - E.K. Retired Citizens Association. Grandma / Mother Marie will be remembered for her great cooking and entertaining. Christmas was Mom's favourite day of the year and even from her wheelchair, did all the preparations, and was still the perfect hostess. Special appreciation to Marie's homecare workers Loretta and Chris. Thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital. The Celebration of Life will take place Thursday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. A private family interment of ashes will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or to a charity of choice.
