Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIEL MARY WILKINSON (TURCHINETZ) Affectionately known as Mert Beloved Mother October 29, 1935 - November 25, 2006 It is with great sorrow and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Muriel Wilkinson on Saturday. She battled lung cancer, successfully removed April 19, 2005, Mom was later diagnosed with metasized brain cancer on June 5, 2006. She was a fighter all the way, determined to survive. With much courage she passed away while asleep at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mom was always generous, so full of love, life and laughter. A devoted and dedicated wife to Gerry (predeceased) for over 50 years; daughter Ellen (predeceased). Muriel was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 29, 1935. The only daughter of the late Anne Turchinetz (Patrick) born in Koziwka, province of Tamopol in Western Ukraine and Mike Turchinetz, born in Washkoutz, province of Bukowina, Romania. Muriel is survived by her children, Ginger, Jay, Sue (Guy Sevenson), and grandmother to Gage; her brothers, Bill of Lexington, MA, Albert of Winnipeg, MB and Richard of Nobleton, ON and cousins, Gloria Lepcio of Toronto, ON and Patsy Quirk of Newmarket, ON. Thank-you! Digger and Gage for helping me take care of mom from July 24 to November 24. Ginger and Jay for spending time with mom, Gloria, Bill, Richard and Elaine, Albert and Doris for your love and support and travels to be with mom, to Bonnie from Battleford, SK for driving to Winnipeg and spending a month with mom this past summer. To Gwen, Eleanor, Rick, Dell, Carol, Doug, Betty and Ellen, Jim and Brenda for your love, support and visits with mom. Mom worked for home care for 16 years before she retired, and made many friends. She loved to read, fish, play cards, sew, shop, favourite ice cream was banana and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone, forever and always, for mom's love was the brightest soul we know and a pleasure to be around. She was a lovely lady with a great spirit and was loved by all. You have passed from this earth but not from our hearts. We thank CancerCare, Palliative Care, Home Care (Jasmine, Helena), Riverview staff, and St. Boniface Hospital for their support and sincerity with our hardship. In accordance with Muriel's wishes, her body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held to honour Muriel on Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pastor Jim Poirier officiating. Ash Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
