Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL DERN On Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away. Mike was born on February 6, 1909 in the village of Senkiw in Western Ukraine. He immigrated to Canada in 1926 and married our mother, Stella in 1931. Subsequently they took up residence first in Arborg where Dad worked as a blacksmith and shortly after moved to the family farm. Both became residents of the Arborg Personal Care Home in 2003. Dad will be missed by his children, Emily (Frank), Karl (Denise), Jake (Sylvia), Eva (George), Edward and Lawrence; 15 grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by our mother Stella in 2005. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Pastor Trudy Thorarinson will officiate. Special thanks to the personal care home staff, doctors and hospital staff at Arborg and Seven Oaks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
