STEVE BUGERA Sadly, we have to announce that suddenly at his home on 52 Lakeshore Dr., in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, our brother and uncle, Steve Bugera, aged 69, left us on November 27, 2006. Steve, the son of John and Annie Bugera and the eldest of four siblings, was born on May 8, 1937 in Vita, Manitoba and within a few months moved to what Steve referred to ever since as God's Country . Steve spent his entire life in Sioux Lookout and was joined in this world by his sister Helen Nenka (Mike) in 1940; brothers, Mikey and Bill in 1944, and nephews, Johnny (Brenda) in 1967 and Kevin in 1977, the sons of Helen and Mike. Steve now joins in heaven and was predeceased by his father John in 1959; mother Annie in 1999, and brother-in-law Mike Nenka only a few weeks earlier on November 2 of this year. Steve was a quiet, kind and considerate man, a gentle giant you could say, who loved hunting and fishing with his friends and family at the camp on Bindo Bay. Nothing it seems made him happier than sitting in the veranda at camp listening to the loons cry, catching a Stevie Fish , or watching the sunrise over camp from his bedside window. Although Steve remained a bachelor with his brothers on Lakeshore Drive, he was a devoted family man and father figure for his two nephews, who he loved and treated as his own. Like a proud father, he taught, took care, and helped raise his nephews; cheered and boasted about their accomplishments; and cherished and enjoyed the time they spent together. Steve was a devout Catholic, active in the parish and proud 3rd and 4th degree knight of the Knights of Columbus. Prayers and vigil for Steve Bugera will take place on Friday, December 1, 2006 (7:00 p.m.) at the Sioux Lookout Funeral Home with service at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 2, 2006 (10:00 a.m.), Father Mike Mahoney officiating. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or your medical charity of choice, through the Sioux Lookout Funeral Home, Box 1449, Sioux Lookout, Ontario P8T 1B9. Although an angel took you away from us that fateful morning to join the others, your spirit and soul will live on in the hearts and memories of the ones you had to leave behind. Forever loved, your family, Mikey, Billy, Helen, Kevin, Johnny and Brenda.
