Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN M. HALLIGAN February 8, 1913 - November 28, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Kathleen at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home at the age of 93. Kathleen is survived by daughters, Marion Cooper, Doris (Walter) Brennan, and daughter-in-law Carol Halligan; sons, Don (Karen) Halligan, Ernie (Judy) Halligan and Gary (Debra) Halligan; 15 grandchildren and their families which includes 14 great-grandchildren. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Kathleen Murton, her siblings, husband Joseph in 1959, as well as her son George Halligan and son-in-law Gary Cooper. Kathleen was born in Plymouth, England. She came to Canada with her family in 1919 at the age of six and married Joseph in 1933. After raising six children, she enjoyed a second career at Eaton's, feeding thousands of customers and staff with enthusiasm and care. However, she never retired from nurturing and rejoicing in children. For 25 years, her home in Charleswood was a refuge for children of all ages. Gram never refused to kick a ball, push a swing or get down on the floor to spend special times with her grand kids. Despite failing health, her eyes still lit up, hearing a child's laugh or seeing a baby's smile. The family would like to express special thanks to Lily Badar and to the staff at Nursing Station No. 3 at Tuxedo Villa for their kind and compassionate care. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with reception and interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a children's charity of your choice in Kathleen's memory. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
