Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH STARK November 28, 1919 - November 24, 2006 After a short illness, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Stark, beloved mother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all of those she touched. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband of 65 years, William; son Alan; daughter Anne and their respective families, brother and sisters in Scotland, sister in Australia and their respective families. Born in Muirhead, Scotland, Betty immigrated to Canada with her husband Bill and daughter Anne in 1966. Education of young minds was Betty's lifelong passion culminating in teaching special needs children. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for literature lead to her becoming a school librarian, which was a favourite part of her career. She also reviewed books for CBC Northern. Creative craftmaking of toys for charity was yet another facet of her generosity and love for children. She lived every day of her life to the fullest, having great inner strength, and much compassion for others. Special thanks to the group of doctors in Mill Bay Medical Centre and to all of the wonderful home support workers and home care nurses of the Cowichan South Group. Private family celebrations of her life will be held in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. Online condolences may be offered at www.sands-funeral.com
