ALICE IRENE HOLLINS March 27, 1916 November 25, 2006 On Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Riverview Health Centre, Alice passed away at the age of 90 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her children; Barry, Laurie - Wayne, Marie - Gerald, who left us in 2001, Dorothy - David, Joan - Sandra (Ernie) Judy (Bill) and Janis, granny to 17 and great-grandma to 24. She was a loving wife to George who passed away in 2000. What a fruitful life Born in Pigeon Lake, Alice moved to St. Charles where she spent her young life. Alice and George married in 1934 and they had seven children, five of who were left in her loving care while George did service in the Second World War. Two more children arrived upon his return home. They lived in a tiny home where love and friendship was in abundance. The empty nesters spent 17 years at Grand Beach the proud proprietors of the Jerry Hollins miniature golf course. Winters were spent in Qualicum Beach and eventually became the home they loved for 16 years. Family called and they returned to Manitoba in 1996, finally settling in their condo near where it all began. In accordance with Mom's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held, so we need to thank everyone who had a positive part in her life. Her sisters and sisters-in-law will miss her quick wit. We will all miss her wisdom and the love she so freely and unconditionally gave us all. To the many who have been part of her memoirs thank you. Alice was 90 years young and until the last 17 days spent in care, she lived on her own, cooking and cleaning and entertaining in the condo she and George purchased. Riverview became her home for the last 3 weeks and we thank the entire staff on 3 East for their professional and compassionate care of Mom and her family. Dr. Stephenson, her doctor and mentor is also on our list of good guys. To her friends in Westwood House we give a hearty thank you for your friendship to Mom. If anyone wishes to make a donation in memory of Mom, Riverview Health Centre is a very deserving care centre. Your children would like to thank you for all the sacrifices you made for us. Your love will live in our hearts. We're sure Pop's big hand was there to greet you and take you forward to a peaceful place. Alice's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
