STEFANIA MARKOWSKI (nee FRONTCZAK) Peacefully, on November 28, 2006, Stefania Markowski passed away with family by her side at Concordia Place, at the age of 81 years. She was predeceased by her husband Edward in 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Edward (Cindy); grandchildren, Nicole and Michael; nieces and nephews in Poland, Urszula (Miroslaw), Marek (Elzbieta) and Pawel; great-nieces and nephews, Sylwia (Marcin), Maciek, and great-great-niece Zosia. Stefania was born in Lodz, Poland, immigrated with Edward to Canada in 1948 and settled in Winnipeg. She loved music and enjoyed playing piano and accordion, as well as singing. Gardening was one of her many hobbies and we all enjoyed the fruits (and vegetables) of her labour. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Many was the time that Nana would don her casino visor and spend the afternoon playing bingo or cards with Nikki and Mike. She used to wager money with the kids on those games. If she lost, the kids would receive an increase to their university fund. Nana never seemed to win, but she kept on playing anyway. Mom was also a dog lover and enjoyed spending time with her many dogs over the years. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. We know she is in a better place now. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place for their high level of care and for their support during her stay there. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
