Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK THIESSEN Peacefully, and with Collette by his side, on Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Chilliwack, Frank Thiessen passed away at the age of 59. Left to mourn are his children, son Darrien (Alecya Capewell) with grandson William; his daughter Brianne; his mother Maria; his brothers, Cornelius, John, and Carl (Sherry); his sisters, Anne Sigurdson (Gord) and Helene Thys (Willis); his loving partner Collette, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Frank was predeceased by his father Franz Thiessen and his sisters, Mary Braun and Gretel Thiessen. Frank was born on October 2, 1947 in Wiesmoor, Germany. His parents immigrated to Paraguay when he was a baby, and the whole family immigrated to Canada in 1957. He grew up in North Kildonan and graduated from River East Collegiate and the University of Winnipeg. In 1981, after a 20 year teaching career in Northern B.C. and Alberta, Frank established himself as a master craftsman with his company Dryad Woodturning. His creations truly reflected Frank's genius and passion for wood. In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St. (204) 339-5555 with Rev. Derksen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, So He closed His arms around you and said, Come follow Me .
