Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBETTY HORROX Suddenly on November 29, 2006, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Betty May Horrox, at 82, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital in the North End of Winnipeg where she lived her entire life. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Nancy Dunn (Bob), Sandy Milne (Bob), Cathie Woodhall (Fred), and Tracy Skazyk (Gordie); her son Lindsay Horrox (Kim); 12 grandchildren, Lincoln (Frances), Lerrin (Kim), Lisa (Aron), Trevor (Kim), Kyle (Alison), Danny (Steph), Darcy (Corrina), Ryan, Sarah, Dustin, Bailee, and Austin, and four great-grandchildren, Gareth, Naomi, Alexis, and Kolton. Betty is also survived by her sisters, Georgina Birdwise (Chuck) and Teash Ward (Dick), and nieces and nephews throughout Canada. She was predeceased by sisters, Muriel Chaloner and Marion Whittle, and great-granddaughter Olivia Dunn. The third of five daughters, born to George and Jessie Chaloner, she arrived on April 25, 1924 and was raised on the prairies of West Kildonan, where she was always active in her community. She was a lifelong member of West Kildonan and General Sir Sam Steele Legions, and remained an active Legion member until diabetes took its toll on her health. Betty was an avid sports fan, especially in her final years, and was particularly fond of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays, who announced her 80th birthday on the Skydome's giant scoreboard with her in attendance. She was the ultimate grandmother, reveling in the arrivals of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and showering them with love and attention as often as she could. They were her reason for living as much as the caregivers who looked after Betty her dear friend Nora, home care nurse Sherri, Doctors Nepon, Embil and Robinson, and the emergency staff at Seven Oaks Hospital. Betty's family is most grateful for their friendship, their care, and their attention. A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held Monday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME, 220 Hespeler Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. We will always love and miss you. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM FAMILY OWNED OPERATED 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
