KEN HART It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Ken Hart on Saturday, November 25, 2006 in San Bernardino, CA. He will be greatly missed by his children, Nadine McCrea (Paul), Rhonda Hart-Moroz (Mike), and Vanessa Hillius (Peter); and by his grandchildren, Andrew and Jessica McCrea and Daniel and Sasha Moroz. Also left to mourn are his mother Reta Hart; his brother Harvey Hart (Velna) and family, and his honorary daughter Gayle Davidson. Other dear friends and family are too numerous to mention, but we hold you in our hearts just as our Dad did. Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanice on November 17, 2001, and had been missing a piece of his heart ever since. He was also predeceased by his father Fred Hart; his sister Shirley Donaldson, and his nephew Rob Donaldson. We know they are as happy to see him as we are sad to lose him. He was born on February 17, 1941 in Swanson, SK and raised on the family farm near there. He married his soul mate Jeanice on October 21, 1960. Ken joined the Bank of Montreal in 1970. He held various positions in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and Tisdale, SK, moving to Kenora, ON in 1976, and Winnipeg in 1979. In the 1980s, Ken became a commercial lender. How many of us remember calling him and hearing Credit Department, Hart speaking ? His final position, prior to retiring in 1995, was as Area Manager for Western Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. While we know he must have experienced the usual frustrations of the working world, he always loved his job, and we joked that if you cut him, he would bleed little blue Ms . After their retirement, Ken and Jeanice divided their time between Lake of the Woods near Kenora, and a winter home in Yuma, AZ. After Jeanice's passing, Ken sold the Storm Bay property, and purchased a new RV which was his pride and joy; spending the next few years living and travelling in his motor home. It's hard to imagine that we won't be seeing him, pulling up in front of our homes, parking the RV (it was like parking a small building), and jumping out, mini-bar in hand, ready for a visit. He had finally chosen to settle near his big brother (in-law) John Donaldson of Nanaimo, and took possession of his new home in Ladysmith, BC just three months ago. During their married life, Ken and Jeanice developed an enduring tradition of hospitality. Big occasions and small were all marked with great food and lots of laughter. After losing Jeanice, one of Ken's greatest concerns was how he would entertain without his wife running the show. He worked hard and was able to master a number of dinner menus. He could even provide dessert! He was justifiably proud of his accomplishment. A memorial service is planned for Friday, December 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. As Ken supported many causes, if friends so choose, they may donate to a charity of their choice in his memory. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 Broadway, 783-7211
