Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY ELIZABETH YEO It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Dorothy Elizabeth Yeo. Peacefully at home by her husband's side on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the age of 76 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her father Gunnar Andresen on December 29, 1964 and her mother Sylvia Andresen (Backstrom), on October 13, 1980. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 56 years, Harry Garth Yeo, and her two sons, Danny Garth Yeo (Sharlene) and grandson Chad (16) and Darryl Garth Yeo (Jackie) and her two granddaughters, Courtney (11) and Amanda (7). Also many relatives and friends she met along her path of life. Mom was always generous with love and always full of happiness to all who knew her. She was born on September 28, 1930 in Winnipeg and met her husband Harry in December of 1947. Dorothy and Harry had a double wedding in Roland, MB on July 22, 1950, the year of the great Winnipeg flood, along side Harry's brother Jack and wife Marion Yeo. She had been employed at K-Mart for 28 years from August 1966 to February 27, 1994. Dorothy's love of poetry, animals and nature were always her most favoured things in life; spending a good portion of her life out at the family cottage at West Hawk Lake, MB where her knowledge of writing poetry brought out the true beauty of the things she loved. But nothing could ever match the love she shared with her family and especially her grandchildren. Her on-going battle of health problems did not seem all that troublesome when she had her grandchildren at her side. This love she shared with her family will always be remembered and never forgotten. Dorothy loved spending a lot of quality time with her family up at the Army, Navy and Air Force Unit # 283. You would always see her, in earlier years, playing shuffleboard with her husband or watching her husband and two boys playing a game of pool in league and various tournaments, and also taking in the Unit's afternoon Saturday meat draw. To all the Doctor's and nurse's and medical staff who helped us have mom's journey through life extended, we thank you tremendously. To the St. James Fire Department and Paramedics who tried vigorously to keep mom's fight for life and love alive a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts and to the emergency staff at Grace General Hospital for their sincere condolences and warm affection, we thank you. We will miss you mom (grandma) for all your gracious love and inspiration you brought to all our lives and the memories our children will nurture forever. You are the true meaning of love and you will always remain in our hearts. So rather than say goodbye it'll be so long till we meet again. All our deepest love back from Harry, Danny and Sharlene (Chad), Darryl and Jackie (Courtney and Amanda), relatives and all your many friends. May you forever rest in peace! Pallbearers for mom's (grandma's) final resting place will be Chad Yeo, Keith Yeo, Eddy Bodner, Chuck Hendrikson, Tony Toews and Sam Passaggio. In lieu of flowers donations can be graciously made to: The Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba, Unit 247 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
